On Ringo Lake Mystery Quilt By Bonnie Hunter

Well, Christmas has come and gone.  Family was here but they have gone as well.  But....Bonnie stuck around.  So happy tooooooo.  I've been chopping away a little each night.

Now onto Bonnie's linkup, check it out.

Here is Clue 5.  I just got done cutting the brown fabric.  Now to chop it up into smaller sizes.

Then I'll start on the neutrals.  But I really was hoping I would have had some of #5 sewn by now.

Here is Clue 4 all cut and ready to sew.  Finished cutting it last night.  I did the test (drive) sew so I'm ready to go :)

Getting nervous, I joined a UFO group and our 1st UFO number is going live on Jan. 1st. We have 10 items to work on during the coming year.  Sure hope I didn't get myself into something I can't finish!!!  I really don't like the idea of giving up fabric if I don't finish my months goal.  But, it's already working....  LOL.  I will win that pot of fabric come Dec 2018.  Well my fingers are crossed anyway.

One more sleep till we get clue 6!  And I can't wait.  That's all I was thinking about while I was working today.

Happy New Years everyone :)

On Ringo Lake by Bonnie Hunter 2017 Mystery Quilt Clue #4

I've been cutting and cutting and Christmas shopping and more shopping, darn I forgot to mail my Christmas cards!  I want to sew, just been getting home so late that I don't get to spend time with my fabric!

Well got more cutting done this weekend.  Clue #3 all cut and ready to sew.  Clue #4 almost done cutting it.  I did do a couple of sew by's to make sure I was cutting my pieces correctly.  My 1st one did not do so well, as I had to rip it out and sew again.  I'm doing a scant 1/4 seam, any more than that  and it does not come out right.

Here's my progress so far with Clue #4.  Check out Bonnie Hunters Blog to see how others are doing with their Clues.
I will try to get a 15 mins of sew time tonight, but have some last min Christmas shopping to do.  Then tomorrow I have a company party to attend.  Those are always so fun.  Wednesday will be the night to get in some time on my MQ.  Fingers crossed.

Can't wait to check in on other's to see their progress.  I'm enjoying the process.  Thank you Bonnie!

Clue #3 Bonnie Hunter's "On Ringo Lake"

Progress on Clue #3 but not done cutting.  I have about 3/4 of my rectangles cut.  None of the corner stones are done yet.  Go here to see more of the Bonnie Hunter samples!

Clue #1 i'm still fighting with.  I was done sewing about half of clue #2, when I started back on Clue #1.  I messed it up from the get go.......WELL,  I continue to follow suite!!!  About a 1/4 of them were wrong.  I must have forgot to take them out of my box???  Well there not in there any longer.  LOL  I now have the correct block on my FW.  Now I'm happy!

Off to sew # 1 and 2.  Going to watch a show on Netflix.  Football is on and my team lost today.  Done watching for now :)

On Ringo Lake by Bonnie Hunter 2017 Mystery Quilt

Well it's time to share clue #2 for On Ringo Lake.  I'm loving this quilt so far and my want to make a second one if I can get clue #1 done.  LOL had a problem there.  After cutting and sewing all that was required I noticed I had sewn them ALL wrong.  All I could do was laugh.  I will use those in my quilt some where.  I don't want those as my second quilt, I would like to try a different color.

Anyway here's #2.  They turned out and had to trim very very little.  I'm using clue 1 as my leaders and enders.  This way I could move on to the next clue without guilt!  :)

I saved the corner that I cut off.  They are my bonus blocks.  I may add them to the back or boarder.  There so cute!

Are you wanting to try this mystery?  Check it out here on Bonne's blog!

Here is clue #1 that I messed up on.

But not to worry, I have recut all my pieces and just need to sew them now.  Will update later on my progress.  :)

Sunday, January 15, 2017

Well, I have been very busy cutting and more cutting of the En Provence Mystery quilt.  I did get a lot of sewing done.  I thought with all this cutting and sewing I should have enough to make my blocks....  So off to making a small design board.

Pictured here

I took some cardboard that I covered the front with batting.  I sprayed it with tacky glue to hold the batting in place.  Then used decorative duck tape around the edges to hold it down.  Works great to take with you to a retreat or class.   Easy to replace when it no longer holds it's shape.

After I got that made, I started to place what I had sewn together on my new design board.   Boy after studying other blocks I found on Quiltville's FB page.   I found that I was still missing some pieces so I could not display the whole block.  I was sad....  So off to so see what was still needed.  After all my cutting I forgot to do the Clue 3 and 4.   GRR  I still have more cutting to do.  Oh well.  I'm just happy I love this quilt enough to finish it.  :)

This one is going on my bed.  Can't wait to finish it!!  Here is my progress, remember nothing has been sewn yet.  It's just on my new design wall as the big design wall is busy with another project.

So happy so far with what I have going on.  Still can't wait to see more if it done.  Time will tell... My goal it to get a bit more cutting done before I start my Ham Radio class next weekend.  That will keep me busy for the next 4 weeks.

AnglePlay June 2016 Mystery Quilt

Great way to learn how to use your AnglePlay Templates.   This took me out of my comfort zone.  But I did it!  Going to my 1st retreat in Feb. with Margaret Miller the original owner and Julie the current owner.  Now to quilt and bind it!!  :)
